Soybean cyst nematode (SCN) Heteroderaglycines races 2 and 4 continue to be the most important races in North Carolina. Approximately 60% of the soybean acreage in tidewater and coastal plain counties are infested with this nematode and the annual losses to soybean farmers are estimated to be 13-18 million dollars. The goal of this research project is to develop new improved populations segregating for SCN resistance.
The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
