The widespread adoption of glyphosate resistant crops has not only caused weed species shifts in the crops, but it also resulted in evolution of glyphosate resistant weed biotypes. To date, three weed species are reported to be resistant to glyphosate in Mississippi (horseweed, Italian ryegrass and Palmer amaranth). University researchers and industry representatives are reporting poor control of other weed species that could be related to herbicide resistance. The objective of this project is to establish a comprehensive database of herbicide-resistant weed species in the Mississippi Delta.
The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
