Brief Project Summary:

The objective of this project is to look at the development of soybean cyst nematode (SCN) tolerant varieties as a management alternative to single source resistance. The researchers will first identify SCN-tolerant soybean lines in the Minnesota elite soybean-breeding lines. They will then identify gene alleles associated with SCN-tolerant traits and develop a genomic selection model to predict SCN-tolerant traits. Finally, the researchers will develop effective SNP markers for breeding SCN-tolerant soybeans through genomic selection.
