The brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) has appeared as a major invasive pest of agriculture, as well as homes, in recent years. This pest originated in Asia and is thought to have entered the mid-Atlantic corridor in the mid-1990s. The past few seasons, BMSB populations have expanded, seemingly exponentially, and are now posing major threats to agribusiness in the area. A particularly hard-hit entity has been soybean crops.
