Brief Project Summary:

The use of spinner spreaders is common in Alabama for the application of fertilizers and lime. In terms of fertilizer application, blended fertilizers are popular either to apply P-K or N-P-K blends during the fall or spring for crop production. However, the management and setup of this equipment are important to ensure uniform and accurate application of fertilizers whether a single or blended products is used. Most spinner spreader manufacturers today suggest fertilizer application widths between 70-90 feet which may increase the risk of product segregation when applying blended products.
