Louisiana soybean producers have traditionally dealt with a diverse insect pest complex. To reduce late season insect pressure, southern soybean growers have adopted an early season soybean production system. This soybean production system has significantly increased stink bug populations. An effective soybean integrated pest program is needed to reduce stink bug impacts while increasing soybean productivity and reducing reliance on insecticides. New management tactics are needed to combat the pest. Preliminary studies have identified some soybean varieties with resistances to stink bugs that may be used with biological control and limited use of insecticides to provide the needed control....
