Final Project Results

In 2024 we tested three different levels of refining for our industrial grade high oleic soybean oils in total loss lubricants and metalworking fluids. We had excellent performance with the lower grade of oil in total loss lubricants and are working on our commercialization plans for 2025 with this product. In addition we are excited to continue developing a transformer fluid in 2025 with further refining.

Benefit To Soybean Farmers

This project has demonstrated the technical performance of our industrial grade high oleic soybean oils and in 2025 RLI will be purchasing equipment to begin commercial equipment to process the oil. For our usage we will be purchasing directly from a farmer owned soybean mill which will return more value for the high oleic beans to him and the farmers who grew the beans. Moving forward we are excited to demonstrate the commercial viability of this project and its ability to return more of that value of high oleic soybean oil in industrial markets to the farmers.

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
