Brief Project Summary:

This project compares new and promising soybean varieties to established varieties in the field, side by side, where soybean producers can see them under local conditions. Demonstrations of 20 to 30 of the most promising varieties in local conditions prove useful to farmers as they select soybean varieties the following season.

Key Benefactors:
farmers, agronomists, extension agents

Final Project Results

We receive abundant questions regarding maximizing soybean variety selection for specific environments. Our goal with the on-farm variety demonstrations is to provide localized access to soybean performance in thee environments. In 2018, an un-replicated soybean variety demonstration was employed at 7 locations across North Carolina. These varieties were showcased at field days across the state for farmers, Extension personnel, and industry colleagues.

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
