Frogeye leaf spot has become a serious threat to soybean production in Indiana and the North Central region. Resistant cultivars and other tools are needed to control this disease. This project will investigate pathogen biology, especially the aspects closely related to disease control, and develop breeding resources for this disease. The project objectives include identifying new sources of resistance to frogeye leaf spot; characterize previously identified sources of resistance and identify associated markers to facilitate breeding; and evaluate virulence spectrum, population structure, sexual recombination, and QoI-resistance in the pathogen C. sojina.
