The soybean genotype Fiskeby III exhibits multiple useful abiotic stress tolerance traits. This project is developing the germplasm, genes, and markers that will be useful for bringing these valuable traits into elite soybean lines, with a focus on IDC and drought tolerance loci. This year, we continued to map the drought and IDC traits, and began characterization of a candidate gene that appears to be underlying the IDC tolerance trait. This project is also developing genomic resources that will enable the use of Fiskeby III for additional traits in the future, including a genome sequence assembly and full gene annotation. These resources should become publicly available before the end of 2020.

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years.
