The soybean cyst nematode (SCN) is the most yield limiting pathogen of soybean, responsible for annual yield losses of more than 90 million bushels in the North Central U.S. Despite the fact that effective SCN management hinges on monitoring SCN populations, a 2015 survey of 1,096 soybean producers in 17 states revealed that 94% knew little to nothing about soil sampling for SCN.
