The vast majority of soybean production goals are tied to biological nitrogen fixation (BNF). This includes increasing grain yield, enhancing seed protein content and seed composition, tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses, optimizing N application rates and estimating N carry-over. Despite such importance, Minnesota growers, breeders and agronomists do not have access to direct measurement of BNF in the field. Considering the narrow margins for improving yields and seed quality in short-season Minnesota, this limitation is potentially costly since it prevents from tapping into BNF as a trait to enhance productivity and improve management. In this proposal, we offer to deploy in the field...

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
