We believe that wise soybean management decisions aimed at maximizing yield potential can be undermined by drainage problems; we need to document the impact of poor drainage on some of the most up-to-date management strategies being tested in Minnesota so that Minnesota soybean producers can make the best decisions for their unique situations.With MSR&PC funding, the Minnesota Lake research site was established in 2011.It contains 8 independently drained blocks on uniform soils.In previous work supported by the MSR&PC at this site, Dr. Fernandez determined that drainage, N fertilizer management in the corn year, and crop residue impact the availability of soil organic N available to soybean.Since...
