Brief Project Summary:

Two projects will be conducted to reduce herbicide-resistant weed impact on soybeans while enabling grower freedom to select soybean herbicide resistance traits. The first project investigates suspected herbicide-resistant weeds collected through surveys and submitted by farmers and ag professionals. Researchers will confirm the presence and distribution of herbicide-resistant Palmer amaranth, waterhemp, horseweed, and giant ragweed, and other weeds resistant to glyphosate and other herbicides such Liberty Link (LL) and Roundup Ready Xtend (RR) soybeans. The second project focuses on soybeans resistant to both glyphosate and glufosinate in a core trait stack (RR/LL). The objective is to develop effective weed management strategies in non-GMO soybeans and in stacked RR/LL soybeans.

Key Benefactors:
farmers, agronomists, Extension specialists, ag retailers, applicators

Information And Results
Project Deliverables

Information generated by these projects will be disseminated to weed management practitioners through various outlets such as print media (e.g. bulletins, fact sheets, websites), published in a comprehensive management guide, and personal communication through Certified Crop Advisors, Ag Retailers, Extension personnel, field days, and workshops.

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
