The brown marmorated stink bug has become an abundant pest of mid-Atlantic soybeans since its introduction in the mid-1990s. Naturally occurring entomopathogens are important regulatory factors in insect populations, and they are key components of integrated pest management programs. The goal of this project is the development of an alternative organic bio-pesticide using the virulent entomopathogenic fungi to control nymphs and adults. The work will assess the ability of entomopathogenic fungi to act as a biological control agent in the control of brown marmorated stink bug.
