The most significant outcome from this project will be an app that will be available in both the Android and Apple apps stores that will let producers compare the costs associated with delivery of high moisture soybeans to different elevators. The app will be posted to both the Apple and Android app stores and made available for no cost as Kentucky producers will have already invested in its creation. Additionally, the research that is carried out before creating the app will be useful in other app development efforts targeting producers. Many people believe apps will be a useful way to enable Extension to serve producers. Private companies are also producing a wide variety of apps. By performing this research and ensuring the app is well-created, it will serve as an example of good app development practices – especially for apps that are intended to be used during hectic harvest time.
