Progress of the project will be measured by (1) production of necessary amount (~200 g) of rhamnolipids to support the other tasks, (2) development of the optimal fermentation process for rhamnolipid production, (3) development of effective biopesticide-containing seed coating formulationto protect against P. sojae infection during the most sensitive period of germination and initial growth, (4) development of pellet formulations for controlled biopesticide release to provide additional or extended protection during and beyond the initial growth phase, (5) production of sufficient amounts of the formulation(s) for small scale green-house tests, and (6) successful completion of the green-house soy growth tests.
