The NDSU Soybean Breeding program has a past history of producing new cultivars that are very competitive with private company products. A high yielding Maturity Group 00 experimental soybean line has been approved for pre-release and the release of this line is anticipated in January of 2015. Also, high yielding Maturity Group 0 experimental lines have been identified, some with SCN resistance, and the seed of these experimental types is being increased for possible release in 2016 and 2017. Growers will have information on which private company varieties have high protein or high oil content. Growers will be provided with data that will aid them in identifying which private company varieties are best for their high-pH soils that are prone to IDC; and their fields that are infested with SCN.
