Brief Project Summary:

This proposal will evaluate nutritional modifications to enhance soybean hull feeding value to grazing beef calves. Understanding optimum supplementation timing and nutritional profiles will enhance future soybean hull marketing opportunities compared to more variable commodity feeds. Determining reduction of forage intake due to supplementation will allow beef and crop producers to evaluate supplementation as an alternative to maintain or increase stocking rates as pasture acres are increasingly converted to row crops.
