Information And Results
Project Deliverables

• Identified genes and gene variants that are specifically involved in the synthesis and storage of soybean seed oil, and their underlying genetic controls (gene regulatory networks) for soybean oil synthesis and storage in seeds.
• Transgenic soybean plants containing over-expression and dsRNAi silencing vectors for two genes for validation of their gene functions and development of new high oil GM varieties without undesired effects on the other agronomic traits.
• Transcript sequences and expressions of all genes expressed in soybean seeds of 100 germplasm important to US soybean breeding programs. The transcriptomic data will also serve as valuable genomic resources for soybean community. The data will be released to the public through a relational database and a G-browser.
• A set of functional markers for oil content and specific fatty acid such as high oleic acid and high stearic acid.

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
