Information And Results
Project Deliverables

1. Specific task investigation summaries will be included in quarterly reports to update research progress and then provided to USB for review.
2. Research finding will be shared in a peer reviewed setting.
3. Optimized analytical technique will be defined and submitted to AOCS’ method development protocol and peer reviewed.

Final Project Results

Development of acceptable sample preparation techniques that are repeatable and provide accurate analysis of key components. Report of analytical protocols in appropriate outlets. Evaluation of new technology for applicability to analysis of key soybean constituents.

Achieving the objectives
• Better hydrolysis methods were developed that resulted in less destruction of key components and increased the speed of analysis using microwave heating

Not achieving the objectives
• A number of problems were encountered that interfered with the ability of the instrumentation to separate out the various components
• Difficulties with repeatability of analysis of soybean samples were encountered
• Part of the problem related to the viscosity of the samples that required increased sonication and filtration, lengthening the time required for analysis

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
