1) Glyceollin, resveratrol and lignin accumulation in new transgenic plants will be measured.
2) Selected transgenic plant and “hairy” root lines will be challenged with a representative panel of soybean pathogens to determine impact on pathogen colonization.
3) The ability of soybean pathogens to degrade lignin, glyceollin, and resveratrol in transformed plants and “hairy” roots, and the degradation products will be determined.
4) We will prepare at least two manuscripts based on results generated in this project.
