The relative abundance of soil-borne and leaf-associated microorganisms and nematodes will be assessed by extracting DNA from soil and leaf tissues of control and fungicide treated, insecticide-treated and nematicide-treated plants. The DNA samples will be selectively amplified, and subjected to high throughput sequencing and computational analysis for the identification and quantification of the prevalent microorganisms and nematodes. The structures of populations will be compared among treatments and locations to assess the impacts of chemical treatments on target and non-target organisms. The analysis will permit the identification of changes in the populations of novel microorganisms...
The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years.
