This project builds on the preliminary studies that support development of concrete management recommendations for soybean farmers with fields infested with soybean cyst nematode and the pathogen that causes charcoal rot. It is now clear that charcoal rot is spreading in Ohio. This research intends to demonstrate the presence or absence of interaction between SCN and M. phaseolina by evaluating soybean yield loss in fields highly infested with both pathogens and explore management options for SCN and M. phaseolina infested fields by evaluating soybean genotypes and screening for tolerance and resistance.Key Benefactors: farmers, agronomists, extension agents
Updated recommendations for managing SCN and M. phaseolina infested fields.
The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
