The OSU-OARDC and USDA-ARS soybean breeding programs focus on the development of Ohio-adapted soybean cultivars and germplasm. Through the utilization of over 10 yield trial sites in Ohio, cultivars are expressly adapted to the Ohio environment and fit the priorities of Ohio soybean producers. These priorities include the development of potentially value added soybean cultivars with exceptional food grade characteristics or modified fatty acid composition.
