The soybean cyst nematode (SCN), Heterodera glycines, is the most serious pathogen of soybean in the United Sates. In August 2003, SCN was discovered for the first time in North Dakota and now is found in several counties. Numerous fields are infested and soybean yields are reduced in infested fields. It is assumed that the nematode will continue to spread throughout soybean production areas in the state and will continue to have a major impact on soybean yields.
