This project continues the breeding and development of Minnesota-adapted varieties with resistance to soybean cyst nematode (SCN) through traditional and molecular breeding techniques. This project implements the use of improved and more highly predictive DNA markers for screening germplasm at the earlier F2 generation. Another objective of this project is to look at new novel sources of SCN resistance and expand work at "parent building" in order to provide resistant parents for future variety development.
