Brief Project Summary:

This project involves optimum planting dates for maturity group 4 and 5 soybeans in southwest Louisiana. Differences in agronomic parameters, such as plant height, lodging, maturity, test weight and days to specific growth stages, will be determined and related to soybean yield. Efforts aim to evaluate date of planting effects on non-irrigated late group 4 and group 5 soybean plant height, lodging, maturity, moisture test weight and gain yield, identify the optimum planting date for group 4 and 5 in the region based on yield, evaluate soybean response to rate and time of application of fertilizer applications and evaluate new fertilizer technologies in soybean production.
