Brief Project Summary:

The three-cornered alfalfa hopper is targeted by frequent insecticide application in Louisiana based on AgCenter recommendations. These recommendations developed in the 1970s and 1980s need to be reevaluated. Two field studies were conducted in 2013 and results indicated that adults feeding on the soybean plant during R1 to R5 stages of growth did not reduce soybean yields. This research aims to reevaluate the pest status of three-cornered alfalfa hopers in soybeans.
