Brief Project Summary:

SCN can be managed using natural resistance; however, SCN populations adapt and reproduce on resistant plants. This results in SCN resistance sources becoming less effective over time and the need for new sources of resistance. This project will develop 200 recombinant inbred lines of SCN that segregate for virulence for all of the main types of SCN resistant plants. The inbred lines will be screened for virulence on PI 88788 and DNA will be extracted from each line for genotype screening.
