The overall mission of this managed research area is improvement of the Illinois soybean germplasm base leading to increased production efficiency and improved quality and value for soybean growers. This mission combines two major research areas, soybean germplasm research and soybean breeding research, into a single unified and interactive program between the University of Illinois and Southern Illinois University.
