Current P and K fertilizer recommendations for soybeans are based largely on data collected prior to GMO soybean varieties. Present conventional and GMO soybean yields are far greater than when original response data was collected. A two-year WSMB funded project along with other recent research suggests that response to P and K might be different in no till compared to chisel. Thus, there is some concern that the present P and K fertilizer recommendations may not be appropriate for modem high yielding soybean production systems.
