Brief Project Summary:

The project continues research to develop disease-resistant and high-yielding soybean cultivars adapted to Virginia's unique growing conditions. Objectives for this phase of research include developing easy to use DNA markers for soybean virus resistance genes and initiating a marker-assisted selection program aimed at gene stacking for resistance to soybean virus and Phytophthora root rot diseases.
