Brief Project Summary:

The goal of this one-year proposal builds on previous Pennsylvania Soybean Promotion Board-funded work with slugs from the past year and continues to develop tactics for managing slugs in Pennsylvania's no-till soybean acreage. According to many no-till growers, slugs are the most troublesome and frustrating pests that they face. Unfortunately, little research has been conducted on these pests; so many biological questions remain unanswered. The researcher will continue basic research on slugs to better understand their biology, feeding behavior, and potential cultural control options.
