During the last decade the role of Cooperative Extension has changed. Extension funding has declined which has also reduced crop production research. This reduction in crop production research has impacted farmers in Oklahoma by not having up-to-date recommendations from Extension. To stay profitable in a changing environment, farmers want recommendations based on current research for fertility, plant populations, herbicide management, etc. for their area.
