Soybean cyst nematodes (Heterodera glycines; SCN) are the number one reducer in soybean yield. Current methods of nematode control include crop rotations, application of nematicides, biocontrol and the use of nematode-resistant varieties of plants. These methods have been successful deployed in limiting the damage caused by nematodes, but the long-term perspective in their ability to control nematodes over time is eroding due to improper management, expense over reliance on adoption of a single control strategy. With the increasing prevalence of SCN in Ohio soybean fields combined with the limitation of usable nematode control strategies in soybean we seek to develop new strategies for long-term...
Further knowledge of the effect of plant-growth promoting rhizbacteria (PGPR) on SCN populations and yield.
The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
