Brief Project Summary:

Soybean cyst nematodes (SCN) are a major pathogen of soybean inflicting significant yield losses in the United States. Though Ohio extension regularly screens and finds SCN in Ohio counties, little information is available on the diversity of SCN populations. Overuse of SCN resistant soybean lines and our limited understanding of the genetic diversity in SCN populations in Ohio threaten the long-term survivability of SCN resistant soybean for nematode control.

Information And Results
Project Deliverables

1. Knowledge of the levels and genotypes of SCN populations in Ohio.
2. Further development of SCN-resistant commercially available varieties in Ohio and Ohio State's breeding germplasm for SCN resistance.

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years.
