Microbial pathogens including viruses, bacteria, fungi, and oomycetes (Phytophthora) cause serious yield losses to soybean and detrimentally affect the income and wellbeing of soybean growers. Support from Ohio Soybean Council (OSC) during the last few years have allowed us to develop transgenic soybean cultivars that are resistant to multiple viruses through a single transgene, and to conduct a comprehensive survey of all viruses present in Ohio soybean fields. Here we propose to further demonstrate the field performance of the virus-resistant transgenic soybean with another year of field testing. We also request the continued support from OSC so that we can complete the virus survey...
A detailed distribution map for each of the discovered viruses. Field performance of the virus-resistant transgenic soybean with another year of field testing. Further development of virus research tools.
The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
