The OSU-OARDC and USDA-ARS soybean breeding programs focus on the development of Ohio-adapted soybean cultivars and germplasm. Adaptation to Ohio is achieved through the utilization of over 10 yield trial sites in Ohio, improving genetic resistance to diseases prevalent in Ohio's poorly drained, no-till, and long-term agricultural fields, as well as expressly breeding for niche markets unique to Ohio.
