Brief Project Summary:

In Ohio, the risk of agricultural phosphorus transport to surface water is assessed by the Ohio USDA-NRCS Phosphorus Index Assessment Procedure (P Index) within the Nitrogen and Phosphorus Risk Assessment Procedures. The objective of this work is to validate, and as necessary, revise the Ohio Phosphorus Risk Index (Phosphorus Index) by establishing field-scale, edge-of-field monitoring facilities around Ohio and to collect the necessary data up to 32 fields in the Western Lake Erie Basin and Grand Lake St. Marys watersheds as well as other areas in Ohio.

This work will increase the utility and implementation of the Ohio Phosphorus Index beyond a tool used merely to assess risk of phosphorus...
