Brief Project Summary:

Soybean cyst nematode (SCN; Heterodera glycines) poses a serious threat to the soybean production in the US and causes approximately 7% loss (~ $1 billion) per year in the US. There is not any cultivar nor transgenic soybean that is resistant to SCN in NJ. The objectives of this NJ Soybean Board-funded project are to produce transgenic soybean plants that will be resistant to soybean cyst nematode (SCN) mediated by RNAi (RNA interference) in soybean to improve soybean production.

Unique Keywords:
#genetic resistance to nematodes, #genetically engineered soybean, #nematodes, #soybean cyst nematode - genetic resistance

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
