Brief Project Summary:

The focus of this program is to evaluate transgenic approaches to enhance soybean productivity through improving photosynthetic capacity of the crop, and protection of yield when the crop is exposed to either biotic or abiotic stresses. In addition, this program has investigated avenues to improve the oil quality and quantity over the past few years.

We have demonstrated that introduction of a transgenic cassette from a cyanobacterial source can improve photosynthetic capacity of soybean. We are building off of this finding to further refine the approach via gene stacking strategy along with altering the genetic element with different promoters to change transgene expression patterns.

Information And Results
Project Deliverables

1. Further development of transgenic approaches in soybean breeding.
2. Further development in methods to improve soybean oil quality and quantity.

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
