This project includes field work building on previous efforts to learn how stink bugs respond to pheromone-baited sticky card traps in soybean. Past work established the relationship between card-catches and field populations and the next step is to turn that into a trap-based threshold advice. This makes stink bug scouting easier and more efficient. The project also monitors for insecticide resistance in stink bugs and soybean aphids. Both of these pests have developed insecticide resistance to commonly used products in other areas. The third objective to publish a new quick-ID card for the most commonly found leaf-feeding insects of Ohio soybean, along with succinct management advice.
