Brief Project Summary:

This proposal is a research and variety/germplasm development program to create competitive yielding soybean lines with the SoyleicTM high oleic/low linolenic (HOLL) trait plus additional seed composition traits that will enhance the value of the soybean to the producer, processor, and end user. This project is part of a multi-year effort to support the University of Missouri breeding program in developing varieties with added profit potential for Missouri producers. For
the current proposal, we will be completing preliminary yield evaluations of the original HOLL plus germplasm developed. In addition, we propose adding a research component to transition to an Enlist E3® HOLL plus High...

Project Deliverables

This project will finish the development of a set of HOLL plus composition soybean lines that may be viable as new varieties with significant premium opportunities for Missouri farmers. This project will initiate a new soybean breeding program aligned with existing breeding program objectives to bring Missouri farmers unique varieties with enhanced profit potential.

The research project involves dedicating resources to a soybean breeding strategy of combining the HOLL and other seed composition traits into high yielding genetic backgrounds targeted at maturity group III and IV for Missouri soybean farmers.

The goal is to build a foundation of genetics for continued breeding competitive varieties with increased profitability along with the agronomics and defensive traits producers can rely on for high yields.

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
